Razorlight

Genre: Rock
Artists: Razorlight
Review: Razorlight
razorlightThe London group, Razorlight, is following up their 2004 Up All Night with a self-titled album. Expectations are high after their platinum-selling maiden effort. The 12 tracks having Johnny Borrell (vocal/guitar), Bjorn Aquen (guitar), Carl Dalemo (bass), and Andy Burrows (drums) are fine-tuned to rock your party. Released exactly 23 months after their first album under the Vertigo/Universal Motown label, Razorlight is brash, full of energy, and stylish. It reminds you of the 1960s pop culture. The numbers In the Morning, Hold On, and Pop Song 2006 bring forth the energy you would associate with youth confidence. The Indie rock style is sincere and honest with no fancy stuff.

Soraya

Genre: Latin
Profile: Soraya
sorayaSoraya was born in 1969 in Point Pleasant NJ to Colombian parents. As a 26-year old, she made her singing debut in 1996 with two hit albums En Esta Noche and On Nights Like This. The second album was an English version of the first album. De Repente made it as an international hit and wherever Soraya went, this number followed her. Next came two albums: Torre de Marfil in 1977 and Cuerpo y Alma in 2000. Though these albums were good, yet they did nothing to promote her image and status. Soraya had raised the bar with De Repente, and these albums could not match up to those high standards although they had some hits. Soraya had to fight off breast-cancer, but she came up with the self-titled album Soraya in 2003 for EMI. Casi won her a Latin Grammy award. Next on line was El Otro Lado de Mi in 2005, which was a huge hit. Unfortunately, Soraya could not fight her cancer any longer and died in May 2006.

When Jennifer Lopez Landed in Jail

lopez1Derrick Parker, the cop present on duty when Jennifer Lopez was jailed in 1999, will soon bring out a book containing the episode in detail. Lopez and her then boyfriend P Diddy were arrested, as they were trying to run away from a nightclub after the occurrence of a shoot out. According to Parker, Jennifer, who was handcuffed to her cell door, was weeping inconsolably. She appeared traumatized the first night. Still in her club outfit, she was handcuffed to the top of the cell for an hour at least, which was an uncomfortable position to be in. That too was reason enough for her to be weeping.
